There are different re-seller programs and they
are all explained below. The information on this page represents our terms and conditions for
re-sellers.
-
A re-seller MUST own the software - either regular or PRO, but preferrably PRO.
-
A re-seller should not send visitors to our web site.
A re-seller collects the money when he/she sells our software, then pays us.
-
A re-sellers earnings are described below. They vary depeding on whether the
re-seller owns our regular or PRO version and whether or not the re-seller owns
a Deluxe re-seller package.

leave no unanswered questions about our re-seller program. It is divided into 6

Part 1 - A complete explanation of our
re-seller program (part 1 of 6) [To Top of

re-seller, you are free to copy, modify, and use anything on our web sites (see
below). It will probably work on just
about any other web site. Here is the complete reseller program for
Checker Software... ____________________________________________________ Here
are our SUGGESTED prices...
Our 3.0 regular version sells for $49.95 and
you must own it to re-sell it.
Our 3.0 PRO version sells for $149.95 and
you must own it to earn the full $74.95 commission on it - otherwise you earn
the same $24.95 commission as on a regular version sale.
Note that many
of our resellers sell the PRO version only. Their customers do not even know the
regular version exists. Both prices include 125 sheets of check paper and
shipping and handling. A regular version owner may upgrade to the PRO version
at any time for $100.00
____________________________________________________ Let us digress and
discuss the VALUE of our software...
____________________________________________________ The above prices are
about all that can be charged for the software selling on the Internet. The
reason for that is that there is no personal contact with prospects.
A
friend of mine owns a company called Merchant Services Group. His company has
2500 sales people out in the field making personal contact with merchants
nation-wide selling credit card merchant accounts, ACH, check guarantee, check
truncation, and check recovery services. He ran a very brief market study on our
software during the first week of January, 1999.
He contacted 5
merchants directly to sell them our software. This was personal contact,
face-to-face sales; not the impersonal, indirect, read about it and take or
leave it type of selling done on the Internet. This was a market test, so
different prices were quoted to each merchant. All five merchants bought the
software. One of them paid $500, one $400, one $300, and the other two paid
$200.
These five merchants were not aware that software like this
existed. They did not know they could collect payments by check in this manner.
When they found out, they all wanted the software; they wanted it right now and
each of them was willing to pay the quoted price.
The moral of this
story is that perhaps as you read the rest of this document, you should be
considering other types of sales and not just Internet sales. Even when doing
Internet sales, you should be aware that this software is very valuable to the
merchants who use it. There is a lot of money to be made.
Most business
people spend little or no time on the Internet and even when they do, they will
never even see your Internet promotions because they are unaware of the
existence of this type of software, so they are not even looking for your web
site. When they are educated, they want the software and they want it now. They
are willing to pay any reasonable price. They are totally unaware that others
are selling this type of software for less on the Internet. Even if they were
aware of the low prices on the Internet, these people will be using the
software in their businesses and most of them would be turned off by the low
prices. They would not trust their businesses to such "cheap" software.
Face-to-face sales is the best and quite possibly the only way to reach these
people and at $400-$500 per sale just 2-3 sales a week can make you a very nice
income.
Even those business people who never go on the Internet have
thought about trying to promote their businesses using the Internet. Everyone
has thought of that. Our software is absolutely the most feature rich software
on the market when it comes to automating Internet commerce. Those merchants
contemplating Intenet commerce (remember, that's all of them) will be turned on
by that possibility even though their need for those features may be in the
future. ____________________________________________________ That said,
let's return to our re-seller program...
____________________________________________________ There is NO
requirement to become a re-seller except that you own the software as explained
above.
When you make a sale, you collect the money and send us our share,
THEN we issue a password and send the check paper that was included in the price
you collected.
You can distribute the software from your own web site.
You will never issue passwords or sell check paper. Don't be too concerned
about not making money on check paper sales. Most of our customers buy the
minimum quantity of check paper and re-order less than once per year on the
average. If you sell to a large customer who uses thousands of checks per month
then we can work out a commission for you on the check paper.
This is
not a multi-level program. There is normally no direct benefit to you if you
recruit re-sellers or if any of your customers become re-sellers.
If, on the other hand, you know someone
who will sell dozens or hundreds of copies per month of our software, we can
work something out in the form of an ongoing override commission for you on
their sales. That will be done only on a case by case basis and your earnings
will be contingent on them achieving a certain sales levels within certain time
periods.
If you own only the regular version...
When you
make a sale, you collect the money and send us $25 for the regular version or
$125 for the PRO version. If one of your customers upgrades to the PRO version
later, you get nothing.
If you own the PRO version...
When you sell the regular version, you send us $25 and keep the rest. When you
sell the PRO version, you send us $75 and keep the rest. When one of your
customers upgrades to the PRO version later and pays you (usually $100), you
send us $50 and keep the rest. If we sell an upgrade to the PRO version to one
of your customers you get nothing unless you have a private version of the
software - see below.
Our suggested prices are built right into the
software (unless you have a private label version - see below - in which case
you can build in your own prices). Whether you sell at our recommended prices or
not, you will pay us $25 for each regular version sale and $125 or $75 for each
PRO version sale, depending on whether you own the PRO version or
not.
If do not have your own private label version and you try to sell
for more than our recommended prices, your customers will see the suggested
prices and think they have been overcharged. If you sell for less, you still
owe us the amounts mentioned above, but your commission will be LESS than the
amounts mentioned above.
If you have a private label version and sell
for more than the recommended prices, you still owe us the amounts mentioned
above, but your commission will be MORE than the amounts mentioned
above.
Unless you own the PRO version AND a private label (see below)
you will have to collect in advance for the software THEN send your customers
to your (or our) web site to download the software. Don't let them get the
software before you have their money, or they may order from us and we have no
way of knowing they belong to you and that we owe you a commission.
If
you own a private label version, you may distribute the software BEFORE you get
paid for it. You set the length of the trial period in days. When the set
number of days has expired, your customers will be forced to pay for the
software or quit using it. Then, if you have your own private label version,
there will be no chance of you losing your commission on the sale.
Un-installing and re-installing the software or playing with the system date
will not extend the trial period.
A private label version costs
$50 and is available only to registered PRO version owners. If you own
version 3.0 PRO, for an extra $50 we will create a private label version of the
software for you. A private label version of the software is not available to
regular version owners - they must upgrade first to the PRO version.
We get
so few bad checks for our software and check paper that we do not think it is good
business to wait for checks to clear. That makes everyone wait many extra days
for their password and check paper just to protect yourself against that 1 in a
hundred that will give you a bad check.
Our resellers usually pay us
immediately and we issue the password and send the check paper right away. Then
if a check turns out to be bad, we issue you a refund less $10. We keep the $10
to cover our costs for shipping and handling the check paper. The customer then
ends up with free software and check paper. That is the risk we take, but it is
far less than the risk that the customer will cancel their order while you are
waiting for their check to clear so they can get their paper and start using
the software.
How to Pay US when you make a sale: When you make a
sale, here is what should happen...
(1) Make sure the customer knows
that even though they have paid for the software they still need to register it
so we will have their serial number and be able to issue their password and so
that we will have an address to send the check paper. The customer must be told
to put your email address on the registration screen as the email address of
the person they paid for the software. When you are sure the customer
understands this, you just sit tight and wait.
(2) The customer will
register the software.
(3) We will receive the registration and will
immediately send you an email asking you to confirm that you have been paid for
the sale and asking you to give us a check number and authorize us to draft
your account for our share of the sale ($25).
(4) You will respond and if
the sale is valid, you will give us a check number to use for the $25 or $75
and your ok to draft your account.
(5) We will immediately issue the
password and ship the paper.
That's all you have to do... First, make
the sale and collect your money. Second instruct your customer to register the
software and identify you as their dealer. Third, wait and then respond to an
email from us.
Part 2 - Private Label Program
for Re-Sellers (part 2 of 6) [To Top of

paragraphs pertain to a PRIVATE LABEL version...

You pay us $75 on each PRO version sale. You pay us $25 on each
regular version sale.
You can
name the software anything you want - or stay with the name
Checker. Do not
stay with the name Checker
if you are going to change the prices of the
software. Sooner or later, your customers will see
Checker somewhere at a
different price and that will make you or the other re-seller look bad.
You can set any price you want, and our share remains constant ($25 for the
regular version - $75 for the PRO and $50 for an upgrade from regular to PRO).
Lower prices will cut your profits on each sale but will not affect our profits.
Higher prices will give you a greater profit and still not affect ours.
Your name, fax, E-Mail address, web site, etc. show up in the software so your
customers do not even know that
Checker or Bob Stratton exist. They can not
compare prices with other re-sellers.
Orders and registrations come to
you. This makes it possible to distribute the software to your prospective
customers on a trial basis without concern about getting credit when they
purchase the software. You can even encourage your customers to give away
copies of your private label version.
You can not safely distribute the
software on a free trial basis without owning a private label version because
when your customers register and pay, we will have no way of knowing they were
your customers. Telling us who you distribute to will not solve the problem,
because we have no way of maintaining that information and tracking it over an
undetermined period of time - plus your customers may pass the software on to
people you don't even know about.
If you do not want to give a trial
period, there are two ways to do it...
(1) set the trial period to zero
days - not recommended
(2) leave the trial period at our recommended
number of days, but don't allow access to your download site until you have
received payment. This allows your customers to give away the software, and the
people they give it to will be able to try it out, but will ultimately have to
register and pay for it. Your customer's password will not work when the
software is installed on or copied to another machine.
The online
registration procedure built into our software protects us both so that there is
no way your private label software can be sold and registered without BOTH of
us knowing about it. Even if people download from your site BEFORE they pay,
the software can not be used beyond the set trial period without registration.
Re-installing the software and playing with the system date WILL NOT extend the
trial period. The software MUST be registered.

Part 3 - Questionnaire for Private Label Re-Sellers

____________________________________________________ Run our software
and...
(1) click on "Re-Sellers and Support" then click on "Permanent
Advertising" and make up your own text advertising files according the
instructions therein. These instructions also tell you to make up your own
graphic to replace our graphic. It must be a .gif file with an
image exactly 300 X 175 pixels in size or proportional thereto.
(2)
Provide us with your name for the software - do a search on the Internet to see
if anyone else is already using that name for a related product.
(3)
Tell us who your customers should make their checks out to when they pay for
the software
(4) Tell us the length of your trial period. We recommend
7, 10, or 15 days.
(5) Give a physical mailing address or PO Box, an
E-Mail address, and a fax number - all for receiving orders for the software
from your customers. If you do not have a permanent fax number, you should take
a close look at http//www.jfax.com. For a $15 set up fee and $12.50 a month,
they will give you a permanent fax number in the city of your choice. The
number will be good no matter where or how often you move. They send the faxes
to your E-Mail so you never have to worry about your fax being down or out of
paper. They also provide the software that interfaces with your E-Mail program
so you can view the faxes that come to your E-Mail.
(6) Tell us if you
will accept credit cards in payment for the software and which ones you accept.
Most of our re-sellers do not accept credit cards for our software.
(7)
If you do not want to sell for our recommended prices of $49.95 for the regular
version and $149.95 for the PRO, tell us your prices. You will always pay us
$25 for every regular version sale and $75 for every PRO version sale no matter
what your prices. If you feel strongly about selling for LESS than our
recommended prices, we can re-negotiate our share AFTER your first 2 PRO version
sales. Our share for the regular version can never be negotiated much below
$25.
(8) Give us a URL, if you have one, where your customers can
download the software. If you don't have one, you will have to E-Mail the
software to your customers.We're sure you are aware that there are several good
free web sites on the Internet, so there is no reason we can think of not to
have one. You are free to utilize and modify anything on our web sites.
(9) When your private label version is finished we can email it to you, but we
MUCH prefer to upload it directly to your download site as "check.exe". That
makes it much easier for us in the future when we need to update your private
label version. That way you'll always have the latest software. To do so, If we
do not already have it, we need the necessary information and password to access
your ftp site including the name of the download directory OR we need an email
address capable of accepting emails with up to 2 meg files attached. AOL will
not work. ________________________________________________________

Part 4 - Order Form for Private Label

are a re-seller of our software with your own private label version, you may
submit your own logo to be displayed in place of our logo on the Main Menu
screen. It must be in .gif format and should have a width to height ration of
12 wide to 7 high. (Our logo is 300 X 175 pixels.) If you change the ratio
significantly, the image may be distorted when it is displayed. The logo file
should be named checkp.gif.

Deluxe Re-Seller Package - Sell

explanation of our Deluxe Re-Seller Package - how to sell
Checker PRO for any price and keep all but $25 for yourself - OR - increase your sales by
offering the PRO version at a low price!
____________________________________________________ This re-seller option
requires that you own both - the PRO version
($149.95) and - a private label ($50) with a
software name other than Checker
and includes both of those in its price. If
you already own one or both of them, you may deduct $149.95 or $199.95 from the
price of this re-seller option.
There is absolutely no difference
between this option and the private label option other than the amount of money
you get to keep. You will pay us $25 for every sale you make WHETHER ITS A
REGULAR OR A PRO SALE!
That $25 covers our time and cost of issuing
passwords and sending the initial supply of check paper.
Compared to
other re-seller options, this option makes you $5 more on every regular version
sale and $55 more on every PRO version sale. Or, this option allows you to
increase your sales by selling the PRO version at any price you wish - even at
a price as low as, or only slightly higher than the regular version.
Remember, with a private label version you can sell YOUR software for any price
you wish. The only constraint is that you must pay us $25 on every sale. You
can give the software away free if you want to pay our $25 out of your own
pocket - or you can put a sales force on the street and sell the software for
$499.95 (or whatever) to loan companies, collection agencies, etc. It's up to
you.
This re-seller option gives you enough profit margin that you can
afford to pay generous commissions to a sales force or to your own
re-sellers.
We recommend that you build a high price into the software
then offer "specials" for any price you wish.
The price for this
re-seller option is only $499.95.
If you own the regular version, you
may deduct $49.95 and your cost will be $450.
If you own the PRO
version, you may deduct $149.95 and your cost will be $350.
If you own
a private label version, you may deduct $199.95 and your cost will be
$300.
